A bit further from the city you can find restaurant Il Lago. Il Lago is a very beautiful, authentic and stylish restaurant owned by Italians. Their specialty is their fresh made pasta’s like Papardelle, Tagliatelle and Lasagne, but they also have delicious pizzas, fish- and meat dishes. And of course don’t forget the Tiramisu or Scroppino.

Even around the Groninger citizens Ariola is very popular. This little Deli runned by two Italian women is the perfect spot if you’re longing for home. Ariola is a cosy place to drop by just to have a chat in your native language with the owners, if you’re craving an Italian snack or if you’re looking for that perfect take-out pasta. Also they offer products from your well-known brands, such as Brodo from Star, Passata from Mutti, milk from Parmalat or pasta from Di Cecco. However be warned, it might make you long for home even more. Ariola has been chosen as nicest shop in the Netherlands 2010, need we say more?
