Places to eat in Groningen

Stuck for somewhere to eat out? Fancy trying somewhere new? We’ve put together a list of a few places that we think are worth checking out!

For Lunch

La Provence

Where?

Ubbo Emmiusstraat 7, 9711 CA Groningen. On the way to the train station just before the Groninger Museum bridge.

Why?

For a tasty, cheap lunch this place is perfect. Especially if you’re stopping off for a bite to eat before catching a train. Seating is available both inside and outside depending on the unpredictable Dutch weather!

Unfortunately not but here’s a link to their Trip Advisor page.

Fresh Today

Where?

Westerkade 10, Schildersbuurt, Groningen. At Westerhaven near Media Markt and Primark.

Why?

They offer a great range of fresh food inspired by different countries like Italy and Spain. There’s also a very nice garden at the back if the weather is nice to escape the busy shopping street.

Where?

Gedempte Zuiderdiep 15, 9711 HA. Pretty much opposite the Albert Heijn on the Zuiderdiep.

Why?

For a more Dutch experience try this place and watch the world go by enjoying great food. I can recommend the ‘Uitsmijter’ a Dutch dish consisting of 3 fried eggs on bread- it makes a great brunch! They also have English menus available.
