See the sea – Weekend getaway

Let’s see the sea!

No idea about  what you could do in the next two days?

What about a weekend gateway to the sea?

Personally, I love the sea and I can’t miss any chance to go there. Even though the Dutch summer is long in coming, last week I took advantage of the sun and went to Delfzijl.

The city of Delfzijl is part of the province of Groningen and it is situated on the southwest bank of the Ems estuary, which forms the border with Germany.

Past Delfzijl, the Ems discharges into the Wadden Sea, part of the North Sea.

How to get there?

The trip from Groningen to Delfzijl is short and inexpensive. It will take you aproximately 30 minutes to get there if you choose to go by car or train and the cost of the return trip is under 20 euros.

Here are some photos that I took last weekend, on my trip there. Hopefully they will convince you that Delzfijl is a place worth visiting.
