Why Visit: Stadspark
The first few weeks of September are set to be warm and sunny. Why not make the most of the little bit of summer we have left and make a trip to Stadspark.
For those who have not been Stadspark is a lovely city park just a 12 minute cycle ride from the city centre or a short bus ride away. Find it on Google maps here.
There are so many reasons to visit this lovely green space that I don’t know where to start! There’s the race track, sports fields, lakes, petting zoo, walking paths, camping… the list is endless.
Firstly, a nice idea in the warm weather is a picnic by one of the beautiful lakes that can be found in the park. Once you’ve found a spot and you’re settled in watching the ducks you’ll soon forget that you’re actually in a city and become at one with nature.
If you have kids the petting zoo and pony rides are a perfect way to spend a day. Right next to the petting zoo there’s a kiosk selling snacks and drinks which is great for hot days when the kids (and parents) want an ice cream! There’s also a play area right next to the zoo so you really can spend a whole day just in this small part of the park.
If you fancy being more active you can take a walk through the forest or follow the cycle tracks. Whilst walking on one of the many footpaths we encountered this picture perfect scene!
If you fancy a camping trip but don’t want to go far, you can also camp here. It really is a peaceful place to de-stress!
And to top it off if you’re like me and food is your main priority you’ll love the All You Can Eat Chinese Buffet Ni Hao which overlooks the lake. For a set price you can enjoy as much delicious food as you can manage whilst enjoying the perfect views.
So why not plan a trip whilst we’re still enjoying nice weather? If you think we’ve left something out or have any questions let us know on our Facebook page or in the comments!
